Hipsters Revived

Maybe it all happened somewhere in the Wynwood Art District of Miami a few years ago or the streets of Los Angeles; all we know is that we love the laid back swagger of the new hipster style that have been grazing everyone’s closets, from our fave male celebs to our local hotties…we’re so not mad about this.

It’s great to see the creative male take the highlight these last few years with their clam digger shorts, bright funky colors, high top sneakers and general “freedom” in the way fashion is being expressed for males with this movement. Considered “perfectly undone” by the many, we cannot help but re-dedicate our love and admiration to the return of casual cool swagger. We give it our official stamp of approval for hipster chic for gents to continue on for another season!

 

Piercings on Gents on the Rise

We’ve seen more and more of a rise in interest and popularity in piercings in general for the last few years, but one other thing we are noticing is that we see this trend in rise for the gents for the first time in a while. We’ve always love the idea of piercings on gents and finally, we have the rest of the world catching up with us! (emoji with heart eyes times 3)

So which piercings in particular? No surprise here but at this current moment, nipple piercings are the most popular piercings for gents, with the eyebrow piercing and the tongue piercing close behind. (Of course, we are not including the plain ol’ lobe piercing, which would be the all time fave piercing for both men and women).

Stretching the ear lobes use to be reserved for the body modification dedicated crowd, but we know now that is changing so much. Ear stretching has become more widely accepted and practiced, even in the mainstream and rightfully so… ear plugs, tapers and tunnels are some of the body jewelry that we that are consistently designed with the male preference in mind. (And we know… stretching kits, tapers, and plugs are our all year long top sellers!)

 

Inked Incorporated

Tattoos have always been a symbol of strength, bravery and even a bit of misfit and lately, they have evolved way past their outdated meanings of devious behavior and made it to just about every style sector we can think of. (Although, who isn’t a fan of for a little bad boy action? We’re def not bashing the “Sons of Anarchy” type bad boys in any way shape or form lol!) We can definitely remember a time when a tattoo was the signature bad boy symbol but it’s great to see the inked break free from stereotype and become a “regular”~ now it’s almost the opposite, it’s a rarity to see gents completely free of ink, especially in cities like Miami and Los Angeles.

With refined techniques within the modern tattoo world, sloppy “prison ink” is the thing of the past. Of course, there will always be that “one guy who got his tattoo out of somebody’s garage” but  for the most part, standards for eccentric and delicate design has been on the rise. With the availability of the digital portfolio, tattooist have stepped up their game in their ability of create all types of work known across the globe. Now that certainly isn’t the only reason tattoos have becomes such a staple of the gentleman’s wardrobe but we sure think it’s helped. We’re not mad about this one either….gents look SO good with their ink!

All the swagger that is around the web on the gents we love, whether they be our friends, boyfriends, husbands or quite simply a celeb crush (@whoiselijah is our favorite pierced and tatted male model heartthrob we can can’t stop stalking),  we love seeing gents stepping up their style game.
