Celebrating Art Basel : Art Inspired Jewelry

With the opening night of Art Basel 2016, Miami, we were inspired more than ever to celebrate some of the beautiful piercing and body jewelry trends that have been inspired by art. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Art Basel, we’ll fill you in on the blanks before we go bananas on piercing and body jewelry inspo from around the globe.

Art Basel, Miami

Every year, around the first week of December, the Art District known as Wynwood transforms into an artists’ haven. Every nook and cranny of the streets are filled with street art, mostly known as graffiti to the commoner. This area is where we locals refer to as the birth of the hipster lifestyle and fashion. Miami Beach and Midtown Miami attract artists and their exhibitions from all over the globe to inspire and intrigue art aficionados to art virgins alike.

Art Basel is not just limited to paintings; larger than life installations and sculptures populate open spaces and films, performances and photography flood the senses during this precious time between Thanksgiving and the December holidays. 269 of them to be exact. 269 of the most relevant artists gather to present their gifts and talents to the world, paving a year of inspiration for all those lucky enough to be a part of the contemporary and modern art explosion.
