The skin is actually the largest organ of the entire human body, and as a result of this, it is susceptible to a variety of different complications, including infection, swelling, and inflammation. Looking after our skin therefore, is far more important than many people realize and it is certainly about much more than simply trying to prevent wrinkles and keep our skin looking and feeling healthy and youthful. One of the more common and pretty serious skin issues that people all across the globe have to deal with on a regular basis for example, is a condition known as Granuloma, or Granuloma Annulare as it is sometimes referred to as. Here we’ll be learning a little more about Granuloma by taking a look at what it is, what causes it, and perhaps most importantly of all, what you can do about it in order to treat it, and potentially prevent it altogether.

What is Granuloma? – Granuloma is a skin condition which has sometimes been likened to eczema. It is characterised by red, raised lumps and bumps on the skin of the affected area which are known as lesions. These lumps and bumps will often form circular ring-like patterns, and what’s more is that the condition can be present in both children, and adults, though surprisingly not in infants. The most commonly affected parts of the body are the hands and the feet, with some patients experiencing severe swelling, itching, and tenderness which can become chronic. More often than not however, any pain and/or itching will only be mild, but it is the disfiguring aspects of the condition that most sufferers of Granuloma become most concerned about. The good news however, is that if you’re able to make a correct diagnosis early on, there are a number of things you can do to treat the condition pretty effectively. Here we’ll be taking a look at some of the most effective methods of treating Granuloma.

Herbal massage oils – One of the most effective methods of treating Granuloma is by using natural topical remedies, including herbal massage oils. There are many natural herbs out there that have been proven to help treat granuloma extremely effectively, for many reasons. The main reasons why so many of these herbs are so effective is the fact that they naturally block certain enzymes internally which in turn can help to greatly reduce, or even prevent, inflammation. A very effective, yet extremely simple treatment for Granuloma, is to mix these herbs with base oils such as almond oil, which you then gently massage into the rashes and inflamed areas two times per day, for around one month. Some of the most effective herbs include: Ginger, turmeric, white willow bark, boswellia, scutellaria, and more. Basically you take a couple of heaped teaspoons of your chosen herbs, you mix them with two heaped tablespoons of your base oil to form a paste and then generously apply it to the affected area.

Avocado paste – Not only are avocado fruits incredibly delicious and healthy for us, they’re also extremely beneficial when it comes to treating granuloma in the process. The main reasons why Avocados are considered so beneficial is the fact that they’re naturally rich in Vitamin E, which has been proven to provide numerous health benefits to us and to our skin in general. To make a simple avocado paste, you need to take a ripe avocado, mash it up as finely as you can, and mix it with a little olive oil until it forms a paste which is not too thick, yet not too runny either. You then apply a generous amount to your skin, leave it on for around one hour, and then rinse it away. You should repeat this process every day for at least 4 weeks.

Coconut oil – Coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils currently available on the market today, and it has been found to be particularly effective when used to treat granuloma. You can either apply it directly onto the skin of the affected area, you can take the oil orally, I.E 2 – 3 tablespoons per day, or you can perhaps even do both. Coconut oil is so effective because it provides antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial qualities.

Clean up your diet – Another fantastic way of clearing up granuloma is to clean up your diet and consume a variety of healthy and beneficial ingredients on a daily basis. Consume plenty of ginger, turmeric, green tea, and perhaps spirulina. These foods are packed full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients, and they too provide numerous antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties and qualities that help to really clear the condition up before it has chance to cause any lasting damage. Incorporate these foods and drinks into your daily life and try to make it a lifestyle change rather than simply just a faddy diet change. After a few weeks you’ll begin to notice improvements which will gradually become more noticeable as time goes by.
